A Foundation Built on Strength and Integrity
My journey started long before I was “The Gal Behind the Sparkle.” I was Grandma’s and Mom’s little helper. They called me Bug, sometimes Cece, a curious kid with big energy and a mind of my own. My grandmother would often smile and say, “Leave her alone, she’ll do it herself.” Even then, I knew that if you wanted a job done right, you needed the right tools and the heart to master them.
🐝 The Women (and Man) Who Built the Hive
This is the source of my passion. Three extraordinary people shaped me:
My Grandmother (RIP Grams)
She began life in a small house on a dirt road in southern Alabama. She overcame deep hardship, loss, and unimaginable trials. During her career, she owned and operated businesses, including the historic Redmont Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama, which was built in 1925. She was a key force in the effort to have the Redmont recognized and listed as a historic landmark, ensuring its preservation for the city. Her non-negotiable lesson: Lead with integrity. Do what you say you’ll do, because your word is everything.
My Father (RIP, Daddy)
Born in 1933, he migrated from Canada, wrote books, and taught from his heart as a beloved Professor at Loyola University Chicago. He gave me balance, wisdom, and a steady moral compass. I’ll forever be proud to be his daughter.
My Mother
A writer and retired Juvenile Probation Officer who spent her career advocating for vulnerable children and families facing mental-health disparities. She’s faced the darkest days and still radiates light. Her lesson: No matter how many times someone hurts you, remember how many people love you. 💛 These three forces—love, teaching, and resilience—are the ones that have shaped me the most. Without them, I’d be lost.
✨ From Kirby to Shark: My Vacuum Education
This legacy is why I take cleaning tools so seriously. I’ve tested, learned from, and worked with countless machines over the decades, and I’ve come to realize that every vacuum has its own unique story.
The Old School: Hoover, Eureka, Oreck, Kirby, Electrolux.
The Modern Tech: Shark (my current favorite!), Bissell, Dyson, Black & Decker, Samsung, and more.
Each machine taught me something about precision, efficiency, and care. My extensive, real-world knowledge means that when I clean for you, I don’t just show up; I bring generations of integrity, experience, and the perfect tool for your home’s unique needs.
🌸 Carrying the Legacy Forward
I carry deep respect for every living being and every space I touch. Thank you, Mom, Dad, and Grams, for your strength, love, and lessons that will forever shine through my work. Because in every sparkle, your love still shines. ✨
The Importance of Choosing the Right Tools
When it comes to cleaning, the right tools can make all the difference. Have you ever struggled with a vacuum that just doesn’t cut it? It’s frustrating, isn’t it? The right vacuum can save you time and energy. It can make cleaning feel less like a chore and more like a breeze.
Understanding Your Space
Every home is unique. That’s why understanding your space is crucial. Do you have pets? Kids? High-traffic areas? Each of these factors influences the type of vacuum you should choose. For instance, if you have pets, you might want a vacuum designed specifically for pet hair.
The Role of Technology in Cleaning
Technology has come a long way in the cleaning industry. Modern vacuums come equipped with features that can make your life easier. From robotic vacuums that clean while you relax to lightweight models that are easy to maneuver, the options are endless. Embrace the technology that works for you!
Investing in Quality
Investing in quality cleaning tools is investing in your peace of mind. When you have reliable tools, you can tackle messes with confidence. Plus, quality tools often last longer, saving you money in the long run.
Embracing the Journey of Cleaning
Cleaning is more than just a task; it’s a journey. Each time you clean, you’re not just removing dirt; you’re creating a space that feels good to be in. It’s about fostering an environment that reflects love and care.
The Emotional Connection to Cleaning
Have you ever noticed how a clean space can lift your spirits? It’s true! Cleaning can be therapeutic. It allows you to reflect, breathe, and reset. So, the next time you pick up that vacuum, remember that you’re not just cleaning; you’re nurturing your home.
Conclusion: A Legacy of Love and Care
As I continue this journey, I carry the lessons of my family with me. Their strength and love inspire me every day. I hope to pass on this legacy to you through my work.
With love always, ~ C (Bug 🐞)
P.S. Is there someone special who inspired you to bloom? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
