A Foundation Built on Strength and Integrity
My journey started long before I was “The Gal Behind the Sparkle.” I was Grandma’s and Mom’s little helper, Bug, sometimes Cece, a curious kid with enormous energy and a mind of my own. My grandmother would smile and say, “Leave her alone, she’ll do it herself.”
Even then, I knew that if you wanted a job done right, you needed the right tools and the heart to master them.
🐝 The Women (and Man) Who Built the Hive
These are the three extraordinary people who shaped me:
My Grandmother (RIP Grams)
She began life in a small house on a dirt road in southern Alabama. Hardship, loss, and trials shaped her early years, but she rose to the challenge with grit and grace.
She owned and operated businesses, including the historic Redmont Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama, built in 1925. She played a key role in getting the Redmont recognized as a historic landmark, ensuring its place in the city’s story.
Her lesson was firm and straightforward: Lead with integrity. Your word is everything.
My Father (RIP, Daddy)
Born in 1933, he migrated from Canada, wrote books, and taught from his heart as a beloved professor at Loyola University Chicago. He gave me balance, wisdom, and a steady moral compass. I will forever be proud to be his daughter.
My Mother
A writer and retired Juvenile Probation Officer who spent her career advocating for vulnerable children and families navigating mental-health disparities. She has walked through dark days and still radiates light.
Her lesson to me:💛 “No matter how many times someone hurts you, remember how many people love you.”
These three forces, love, teaching, and resilience, are the foundation of who I am. Without them, I’d be lost.
✨ From Kirby to Shark: My Vacuum Education
This legacy of integrity is why I take tools so seriously. I’ve tested and worked with nearly every machine across the decades, and every vacuum had a lesson to teach.
The Old School
Hoover, Eureka, Oreck, Kirby, Electrolux
The Modern Tech
Shark (my current favorite!), Bissell, Dyson, Black & Decker, Samsung, and more
Every machine taught me something about precision, efficiency, and care.
So when I clean your home, I’m not just showing up, I’m bringing generations of integrity, hands-on experience, and the perfect tool for your home’s unique needs.
🌸 Carrying the Legacy Forward
I carry deep respect for every living being and every space I touch.
Thank you, Mom, Dad, and Grams, for your strength, your love, and your lessons.Because in every sparkle, your love still shines. ✨
The Importance of Choosing the Right Tools
The right tools can transform your entire cleaning experience. A poor vacuum drains your energy. The right one saves you time, preserves your back, and makes cleaning feel less like a chore and more like a satisfying reset.
Understanding Your Space
Every home is unique. Pets, kids, high-traffic areas, and flooring types all matter. Your vacuum should match your lifestyle, not the other way around.
The Role of Technology in Cleaning
Modern vacuums have come so far. Robotic vacuums that clean while you rest, lightweight models for quick resets, LED headlights to reveal hidden debris, there’s a tool for every need.
Embrace technology that works for you, not against you.
Investing in Quality
Quality cleaning tools aren’t a luxury; they’re peace of mind. When your tools are reliable, you clean with confidence. And quality tools last longer, saving you money over time.
Embracing the Journey
Cleaning is more than removing dirt. It’s creating a space that feels good to exist in. It’s choosing care. It’s building calm.
And whether you realize it or not, cleaning can be deeply therapeutic, a moment to breathe, reset, and reconnect with yourself and your environment.
Conclusion: A Legacy of Love and Care
As I continue this journey, I carry the lessons of my family with me. Their strength, their wisdom, their warmth, it all lives in the work I do and the homes I touch.
Thank you for being part of this hive.
