šŸ Before You Hire Someone to Deep Clean…

Updated: Sep 4

ree

Let’s be honest—deep cleaning is one of those topics that gets people talking (and sometimes disagreeing). Everyone seems to have their own definition of what ā€œdeep cleanā€ means. But after years of experience in this industry, here’s what I’ve learned—and what I’ve consistently noticed when I walk into a home that was supposedlyĀ deep cleaned:

Ceiling fans? Dusty. Baseboards? Ignored. Faceplates? Still smudged. Walls? Barely touched—if at all.

The truth is, a real deep clean is rigorous, tedious, physically demanding, and exhausting.Ā But if you’re doing it right, you’ll know it.

🧽 How I Approach a Deep Clean

I was trained to clean systematically—from the back of the property (top floor first unless otherwise noted), working high to low, corner to corner, and one zone at a time.

For context:

  • A primary bathroomĀ takes 1–2 hours

  • A kitchenĀ (depending on size and condition) takes 3–4 hours

  • A home under 3,000 sq. ft.Ā takes 12–24 hours over 2–4 days

If I have trained help, we might shave off 8 hours—but deep cleaning is never about rushing. It’s about detail.

šŸ¤” Why So Many Opinions on Deep Cleaning?

Good question. Who sets the standards? Honestly, no one.Ā There’s no national guideline or certification (yet) for what deep cleaning ā€œmustā€ include.

But I can tell you this: My standards are high.

A Hard Lesson Early On

My cleaning journey started at the Marriott (now Sheraton) in Bay Point, FL—my hometown. I was hired to clean the restaurant at night and was fired within a month.

Why? I was moving too fastĀ and missing too much. At 19, I thought speed = good work. I was wrong.

If I could go back, I’d tell that girl one thing: Slow. Down.

šŸ’” Clean Roots Run Deep

My mom kept a spotless home—thanks in part to bi-weekly professional help. My dad was more relaxed about cleaning, but as a family, we worked together to maintain our space.

Sundays were special—candles lit, laundry fresh, breakfast cooking. That cozy, clean feeling? It stuck with me.

Even now, the smell of fresh laundry or a deeply cleaned space brings me joy. Clean isn’t just ā€œneatā€ā€”it’s comfort.

🧼 Organization: The Secret Ingredient

When I worked for a vacation rental company in Santa Rosa Beach, FL, we had the chance to be trained by a woman who owned an elite cleaning business.

She showed us:

  • How to spot cleaning mistakes

  • How to notice small maintenance issues

  • What guests (and homeowners) reallyĀ notice

That training was gold—and I’ve brought it into my own business ever since. Because when clients say, ā€œI want a deep clean,ā€Ā what they really mean is:

ā€œI want every square inch of my home to feel fresh, clean, and peaceful.ā€

šŸ•’ How Do You Get That ā€œPerfectly Cleanā€ Feeling?

Not overnight.

It starts with a true, detailed Queen Bee Deep Clean—and is maintained with regular monthly or bi-weekly cleanings.

This does more than keep your house clean:

  • Preserves your home’s value

  • Prevents build-up and grime

  • Supports a healthier, happier home environment
